Coldplay Performs Linkin Park Tribute at North American Tour Kickoff

On the first date of their 2017 North American tour, Coldplay paid tribute to Linkin Park, which lost its frontman Chester Bennington last month.
Near the end of the performance at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Tuesday night (Aug. 1), Coldplay leader Chris Martin performed a solo cover of Linkin Park smash “Crawling” on piano.

On the first date of their 2017 North American tour, Coldplay paid tribute to Linkin Park, which lost its frontman Chester Bennington last month.

Near the end of the performance at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Tuesday night (Aug. 1), Coldplay leader Chris Martin performed a solo cover of Linkin Park smash “Crawling” on piano.

He dedicated the performance to “anyone who’s missing someone,” and restarted the song after flubbing the opening, noting that he wanted to get it right since it would likely end up on YouTube.
